MEET THE CHEF

CHEF CLAYTON ARAKAWA

I thought that this picture was fitting for what is going on in the world today.  This picture was taken during a stint I had working in a hotel in Tokyo.

Thank you for spending your time on my site.  It means more to me than you know.  Your time is precious and you chose to spend it with me.  That is what keeps me going today.

A little bit about me.  I have been a Chef for too many years to count and have had the pleasure to work in many kitchens around the world.

Born and raised in the great State of Hawaii, food was always the center of life.  I did not know I would go into this great profession.  In college I worked in kitchens because you were given a meal and it did not interfere with my schooling (to an extent).

I fell in Love with cooking and how it brought me joy.  My Journey has taken me all over the western US, Hong Kong and Japan.  All of the stops along the way I gained more knowledge and understanding of different styles of cooking.

I love to put my own spin on dishes to make it more personal to me.  I hope that you enjoy it as well.

Check out Big Island Provisions & Sundries to book us for a catering event or personal chef.  "I have a whisk and will travel."  (One of my chefs gave me an article with this title years ago and I have lived by this mantra).
